Does this sound familiar?
You love your child more than anything.
And still, some days, you barely recognise yourself.
You react before you can catch yourself and then spend the rest of the day in shame.
You know all the right things to do. You just cannot seem to do them when it actually matters.
You are showing up but you are not really there. You are performing motherhood rather than living it.
You worry that your own childhood is showing up in how you parent, and you do not know how to stop it.
You are doing this largely alone, and the weight of it is enormous.
This is not a character flaw.
It is a nervous system under pressure,
carrying a story that was never fully tended to.
HELD was built for exactly this.
What HELD is
Not a parenting course.
A becoming.
HELD is a ten-week online course that meets you not as a problem to be solved, but as a mother with a story worth understanding. Each week builds on the last, taking you deeper into your own nervous system, your relationship with your child, and the patterns that have been running quietly in the background your whole life.
The image we return to throughout the course is a mountain. Each step is small and steady. Each week you climb a little higher. And by the time you reach Week 10, you will look back and see how far you have come, not through perfection, but through presence, repair, and the willingness to keep returning.
Pou
Your grounded, anchoring presence
HELD helps you become the steady post in your child's world. Not rigid. Not perfect. Rooted. Present. Someone they can always find their way back to.
Mana
Your warm, wise authority
HELD helps you lead from dignity rather than fear. To hold boundaries not as walls, but as acts of love. To guide your child not by controlling them, but by knowing yourself.
Becoming With
The journey you share
HELD is not about becoming a better mother. It is about becoming more fully yourself, so that what your child receives is not a performance of love, but the real thing.
What is inside
Ten weeks.
One step at a time.
Each week includes an audio guide, embodied practice, somatic work, journal workbook, gentle reminder, and closing blessing.
Being Held
Understanding your nervous system and what regulation actually means. Not control. Return.
Being Known
Attunement, empathy, and what it means to truly see and be seen by your child.
The Mother's Story
Understanding how your own history shows up in how you parent, and what to do with that understanding.
Autonomy and Boundaries
Leading from Mana. Holding limits that are warm and firm, not rigid or fearful.
Reparenting Yourself
Tending to the younger version of you still carrying what was never given. Giving yourself what you needed.
Emotional Co-Regulation
What co-regulation actually looks like in practice and how to offer it without losing yourself.
Presence Over Performance
The difference between showing up and truly being there. What your child actually needs from you.
Play, Presence and Shared Joy
Play as medicine. Manaakitanga as a way of being. The sacred ordinary moments of connection.
Rituals and Rhythm
Building the daily rhythms and rituals that hold your child and sustain you both.
Held and Whole
A closing ceremony. A blessing. A celebration of the mountain you have climbed and the mother you are becoming.

About Donna
I built this course because I needed it too.
I am Donna Stichbury. An attachment mentor, senior Interplay facilitator, early childhood education teacher, learning disabilities nurse, and someone who has spent ten years in deep study of Pikler and Dance with Me in the Heart. I am also a mother, a wife, a friend, and simply, honestly, me.
I did not come to this work from a clinical training. I came to it through living it, studying it, being changed by it over many years. Through sitting with brilliant thinkers and ancient wisdom traditions. Through my own journey as a mother navigating exactly what you are navigating now.
For over a decade I have worked with mothers, families, and children in the tender space where relationship lives. And throughout all of that work one thing has become clear to me: mothers are not failing. They are carrying too much, with too little support, and almost no space to understand their own story.
HELD is the course I wished had existed when I needed it most. It is built from everything I have learned, everything I have studied, and everything I believe about what mothers and children truly need from one another.
We are not asking you to become someone new. We are inviting you to remember who you have always been.
A mother who knows how to be present. A woman who knows how to return. A human being whose capacity for love is already whole.

Questions
You might be wondering
My child is very young or very old. Is HELD still relevant?
Yes. The principles in HELD, nervous system regulation, repair, attunement, presence, apply across all ages and stages. Many mothers find the work especially powerful when their child is at an age that echoes something from their own story. Whether your child is two or twelve, this course meets you where you are.
How much time does each week require?
Each week is designed to be sustainable inside a real and busy life. You will need roughly two to three hours spread across the week for the audio, embodied practice, and journal work. The practices are designed to weave into daily life rather than requiring a separate window of time.
Do I need any prior knowledge of nervous system or attachment work?
None at all. HELD is written in plain, warm language with no jargon. Whether you are entirely new to this territory or you have done years of personal work, the course meets you at your level and takes you deeper.
What if I fall behind or miss a week?
You have lifetime access to everything in HELD. There is no deadline. You can move at your own pace, return to weeks that felt significant, and take as long as you need. The course does not expire.
Is there live support or community included?
HELD is a self-paced course. If you would like personal support alongside the course, Donna offers 1:1 sessions that can run in parallel. You can book a free chat to discuss that at any time.
I am not sure HELD is right for me. What should I do?
Book a free chat with Donna. There is no pressure and no obligation. It is simply a conversation to help you work out whether this is the right fit for where you are right now.

Small, steady, and mindful.
Your child does not need a perfect mother. They need you, present, returning, and willing to climb the mountain one step at a time. HELD will walk beside you for every one of those steps.
